Happy Ends

We are very proud of our hundreds of successful adoptions, and the many happy families that have returned to adopt from us again, and again, over the years.

Here are photos of some of our adopted kids. You can search by dog or family name.

Luke

Luke is now calling Chino, CA, home with the Gough family.

Callie

Calli now lives in Eugene OR with her new Pei brother, Hop Sing, who was also adopted from us.

Hello everyone. My name is Callie, and before you go thinking that I am trying to pass myself off as a pure Pei, I know I am of mixed descent. Iím not sure if it was my mother or father who was the Pei, and I donít even know what my other parent might have been. Itís really not important anyway because no matter what my background might be, Iím a real looker. Iíve heard it said that it looks as though someone photo shopped a Pei head on a Basset body-I guess itís the short legs and long body Enough about all that.

Let me tell you a little about my personality which is also right up there with my good looks. I am very active and outgoing. I think I would like to live as an only dog. If I must share my home with another dog, I would really like it to be someone of the male dog persuasion. Not that I donít like the ladies, I just donít want to live with one 24/7. Iím only about three years young and weigh around 35 pounds-very petite! If you are looking for a companion that is sure to get a conversation started then Iím your girl! Iíve had all my necessary surgeries and vaccinations, and now Iíd like to get a conversation started with youÖ

Charley

Charley has been adopted by Mark in Elk Grove, CA

Winnie

Winnie has been adopted by Jay and Kelly and is calling Oregon home.

I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Winnie, and I am from Southern CA. My story is a little different from most of my companions here in Redding since I did not come from a shelter. I was found in a ditch, thought to have been thrown out of a car. The nice man who found me could not keep me, and the neighbor who notified this rescue about me was in the same position of not being able to give me a forever home. Both of these people were very kind to me, and I don't want to think where I may have ended up had it not been for them. I arrived in Redding needing bilateral entropion surgery and to be spayed. I am happy to say I have had all my surgeries and vaccinations and now would like to find a forever home. I am not even a year old yet and very small-right around 30 pounds. I have lots of energy because I am still a puppy, and I need some training. I know this is not a very good picture of me, but I guess photography is not my foster parents' strong suit. They are, however, very good at giving us lots of love and attention as well as providing us with only premium dog food-yum! They also take care of all of our medical needs no matter what they may be. So, the photo may not be great, but the life here in Redding is. All that being said, I would still like a family to call my own. I'm waiting for you...

Howard

Howard was adopted by Michele and Joey in Carlsbad, CA.

I am another new face here in Redding. I came from a high kill shelter in Southern CA where I was found as a stray. If I look a little worried in this photo, maybe it is because I am. When I was found I had a very heavy chain and large padlock around my neck, and I don't ever want to be subjected to that sort of treatment again. If you should choose to visit me in Redding, I'm sure my foster parents would share the photo of me showing how I looked when I entered the shelter with that chain and lock. Anyway, that's all behind me now, and I am looking forward to a wonderful new life with people who will love and care for me. I am a friendly boy and good with other dogs. For all I've been through, I still like to give kisses and will always come when I am called. Life is already much better for me, but I am looking forward one day to having a family and home of my own-something we all want and deserve. By the way, I go by Howard now or Howie to my friends.
