This lovely old lady is Franny, who looks great at 12 years old. She had been scheduled to be euthanized merely because she was considered too old to be adopted. Franny's family never came to retrieve her, even though she had been micro chipped and they had been contacted. The California Sharpei Rescue was able to take her away a mere few hours before it was too late. She is a very sweet natured and active girl. She is always wagging her tail, she is very appreciative to be in a home. She has settled in very well at her foster home in San Francisco.

When Glenn and Caroline, took her the next day for her senior wellness check-up, it was determined she had contracted heart worm, which is always fatal if untreated. Anna and Homeward Bound are working with the veterinarian in Redding to devise a plan to save her from this slow demise. The treatment is costly, but she doesn’t deserve to die yet. Let us all keep our fingers crossed and Franny in our thoughts.
